Arsene Wenger relief pressuring from Ramsey

Arsene Wenger has attempted to take the pressure off midfielder Aaron Ramsey by saying that the Welsh international need not focus too much on scoring goals. Ramsey has emerged as a major player for Arsenal since last season.

Despite missing a chunk of the campaign, he was one of their top scorers in a season that finished with the FA Cup trophy. Ramsey has struggled to replicate the same kind of scoring form this campaign, as he has got just two goals in nine appearances this season. The pressure of scoring goals appears to have gone to newcomer Alexis Sanchez.
He is the first Arsenal player to enter into double figures for the season. Due to several injuries, Ramsey has been forced into playing different roles over the last few months.

This seems to have affected his goal scoring form. Wenger, though, has tried to ease the pressure on the player by saying that goals are not the only factor to judge his performances. The Frenchman is confident that the team will be able to get goals from across the pitch if Ramsey plays well. Danny Welbeck was brought to the club for £ 16 million in the summer, but he has been disappointing in front of goal with just five goals in 20 matches.

“A midfielder is a player who defends well, attacks well and keeps his priorities right. He's not a goalscorer, so he has not to be obsessed by that. I just want him to do his job well.

The goals are the consequence of the quality of his game. I don't believe that he has to be obsessed by that. He's running after consistency. He's one of the players who has been very efficient last season.Since the start of the season, he has not had a consistent run,” said Wenger.
